One of the most important things you can do with your compound bow is to get comfortable with it and the sights. After all, if your bow isn't sighted in how will you be confident you will hit your target?
My Elite Ember bow has a 3 pin sight. This is the only sight I've ever used so I won't go into the different types of sights. To get this sighted in took a lot of trial and error. I started shooting at 10 years with the first pin to see where the arrow landed. If the arrow was above where I was aiming, I would move the sight up a tad and shoot again. I would continue this process until I was hitting where I was aiming. If the arrow was hitting low I would lower the pin and shoot again until I hit where I was aiming.
After my 10 yard was sighted in, I moved to 20 and then 30 yards and repeated the process above.
Sighting Left to Right
I continued the same process for left to right. If my arrow was hitting too far left I would move the entire sight a tad left and shoot again until I was in the correct place, use the same process for right. If you are still shooting off after moving the sight and testing, make sure you are not gripping the bow too tight. My sight also has a level. I also make sure I am level with the target.
Check out the video above and let me know what type of sight is your favorite in the comments!
