We have all been through times where we are not motivated. Currently, I hit the gym 5-6 times a week. Even on my active rest days I am doing some type of physical activity. With all of that grind there have been times where I am not seeing the results I want or I get tired of the current plan I am on. No matter what the situation is there are a few key things that always help me get back on track.
The reality is, big changes are not going to happen overnight. Big lifestyle changes are gradual.
First and foremost, consistency is key. I know you've heard this before, but it's probably the most important part of reaching your goals. Consistency with nutrition and fitness. While consistency is the most important, it is also the hardest part. We all want a quick fix, "i've been working out an entire month, why don't I see results?" Or "my nutrition is on point, why don't I have a 6pack?". The reality is, big changes are not going to happen overnight. Big lifestyle changes are gradual. That is why it is important to not get discouraged about your goals.

Set real goals and expectations for yourself. You may have different phases you need to work through before you get to your ultimate goal, and this is fine! We all need to start somewhere.
Think of an end goal and mini goals that lead to your ultimate goal. This will help you progress gradually and also have small wins throughout the process. Since we can't get instant gratification with a huge lifestyle change, small wins will make you feel more successful.
Another piece of advice I can give is to have an accountability partner. Whether it's your dog, significant other, or a friend find someone who shares a similar goal. If you promise a friend you're getting up for a 5am cycle class it's going to be easier to get up knowing there is not only someone else doing the same thing you are, but that person is also counting on you!
Motivational posts and transformation stories are HUGE for me when I am not feeling my workout. Scrolling through fitness posts on Instagram or watching a fitness blog inspires me to get my butt moving. If you don't have an accountability buddy, watch some videos. There is someone out there who was once in your shoes and they overcame. You can too!
